The MIRAN Company was established in 1922 and has been growing ever since; two are the main products of the company produced massively, pastourma and soutzouki. The Miran Company is synonymous to quality and tradition and its name is known all over Greece. The quality and the unique taste of its products mainly of Pastourma, became a way of life for the lovers of the kind. In 1994 Miran obtains an export code for the European Union and exports its products in 5 European countries and its target is to cover all of them within the next five years. Its products fulfill the high standards of the European Union.

Pastourma is cured meat that has its roots in the Orient and most specifically in Armenia, Turkey and Cappadocia. It is wide spread delicacy in the Middle East as well as in the Balkan countries and should not be confused with pastrami. Originally it was made from camel meat but nowadays it is produced from all meats such as veal, beef, mutton and from all animal’s parts. It is spread with “tsimeni” which is a mixture of garlic, paprika, salt and fenugreek. It is this tsimeni that gives pastourma its strong taste. Pastourma is served with ouzo or raki and is one of the most favourite delicatessens of the Greeks eaten before a main meal as appetizer.
